Pakistani Official leaves for Geneva to attend U.N. meeting on refugees

ISLAMABAD, OCT 5, SPA – Pakistan’s Minister for States and Frontier Regions Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has left for Geneva to attend the 57th Session of the Executive Committee (EXCOM) of the High Commissioner’s Programme. The Minister will deliver a policy statement on the Afghan refugees protracted situation in Pakistan and its adverse economic implications, an official statement said. Rind will also call on Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees as well as attend the informal round table session, which will focus general issues concerning refugees. The Minister is leading a four-member delegation, which will meet Afghan delegates to discuss ways and means to accelerate repatriation of Afghan refugees in a dignified manner.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/394251
