Pakistan’s Foreign Minister leaves for Doha to attend ACD Ministerial Meeting

Islamabad, May 23, SPA -- Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has left for Doha to represent Pakistan at the 5th two-day Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting that began on Tuesday, says an official statement. ACD serves as an Informal Forum for the Foreign Ministers of a select group of countries in Asia to meet regularly to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and to promote cooperation in various fields including Energy security, transport links, IT development, Science and Technology, Financial cooperation and Agriculture. Pakistan, which is one of the founding members of the Group, hosted the 4th ACD Ministerial Meeting in Islamabad in April 2005. ACD currently comprise 28 countries, which besides Pakistan, includes China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Oman, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Korea and Kazakhstan. On the margins of the Conference, Foreign Minister Kasuri will meet with the Foreign Ministers of some friendly member countries for bilateral meetings.--SPA www.spa.gov.sa/363195
