Jammu, June 29, SPA -- Rebels hiding in a village home inIndian-controlled Kashmir exchanged gunfire with police andparamilitary soldiers Wednesday, leaving four dead. Agrenade blast elsewhere injured six people, police said. One rebel, two police officers and a paramilitarysoldier died in the clash, said Police Inspector-GeneralS.P. Vaid. The gunfight took place when security forces raided Chakkavillage after receiving a tip that three rebels were hidingthere, The Associated Press reported.
