Olympics Athens, Aug 1, SPA -- A special anti-biochemical NATOforce arrived in Greece Sunday as part of a vast securitynetwork aimed at protecting thousands of athletes andspectators during the Olympic Games, officials said. According to a NATO official who spoke on condition ofanonymity, some 200 troops were deployed at a Greek armycamp in Halkida, some 89 kilometers (55 miles) north ofAthens. "We are talking about a very limited number of troopswith specific capabilities," he said, adding that theCzech Republic is the lead nation in the force. On Saturday a spokesman for the Czech Defense Ministrysaid that 84 anti-chemical warfare specialists had departedfor Greece where they would join an advanced team of 20more soldiers from the unit who had been deployed earlierin the week.
