Moscow, Sept 8, SPA -- Security officials said Thursday that 10 of the raiders who seized a school and took some 1,200 peoplehostage have been identified and that six of them came fromChechnya, where insurgents have been fighting Russianforces for five years. The other four came from Ingushetia, a republicneighboring Chechnya that saw brazen coordinated attacksagainst police in June, in which 90 people died. The identities, reported by regional security officials oncondition of anonymity, appeared to draw a strongconnection between the Chechen insurgency and thehostage-taking, which ended in a frenzy of gunfire andexplosions and the deaths of at least 326 people. The presence of Ingush raiders could threaten to inflamelong-standing tensions between them and ethnic Ossetians, who are the majority in the republic of North Ossetia wherethe school was seized.--SPA1452 Local Time 1152 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/199783
