Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia achieves an advanced position on world tourism map

Riyadh, December 02, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved an advanced position on the world tourism map, as it hosts first regional office affiliated to United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Saudi Arabia is seen as one of the most UNWTO active members, during the past three years and it has many interests in the future of tourism, the paper said. Saudi Arabia has made great progress in achieving a prominent position as the fastest growing global destination within a few years, the paper added. Saudi Arabia seeks to redraw the features of the tourism sector in order to meet the need of tourists for various programs and services, the paper further noted. The joining Abha-based Soudah Development Company (SDC), which is subsidiary to the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as an associate member of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), has confirmed the unprecedented progress of Saudi Arabia's tourism globally, the paper concluded. --SPA 10:09 LOCAL TIME 07:09 GMT 0007 www.spa.gov.sa/w1658884
