Riyadh, May 05, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper reported its editorial that under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has exerted unprecedented efforts to ensure the safety of citizens and residents in the Kingdom from the effects of the novel Coronavirus Pandemic. The paper added that such efforts have a great impact on the duties being performed by health and security men and all concerned government agencies who spared no effort to fulfill their roles in implementing the plans and applying the related decisions in this regard. The paper concluded that the government’s decisions and plans aimed at providing medical treatment to all citizens and residents without exception, including those who did not complete the conditions of Iqama (residency), in addition to conducting active screening to reach the largest possible segments in the comprehensive proactive test and other tasks. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the steadfastness of the Saudi economy in confronting the current crisis caused by Coronavirus Pandemic has reflected its strength and durability and the full feasibility of the programs and projects of the Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 which aiming at depending on none oil revenues that would enhance the country's national income. The paper added that with the implications of the pandemic that would continue for a period of two years, according to World Health Organization (WHO), the matter may require a number of firm economic measures to ensure the sustainability of public finances and the ability to manage the national economy in a way that achieves public interests.
