Riyadh, November 29, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ranked 6the among the world safest travel destinations during the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the only one in the Middle East. The classification was based on common European Union standards to coordinate travel restrictions and epidemiological criteria methodology. The paper added that this achievement comes within a series of successes achieved by the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince, as a result of early precautionary and preventive measures and the Kingdom's emphasis on the priority of human safety and health. This enabled the Kingdom to mitigate the repercussions of the pandemic and provide aid for many countries, especially the least developed. In another context, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to keep pace with every new progress, emanating from the believe that this is the only way to achieve the aspirations and goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The paper added the Digital Cooperation Organization, which was established by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Pakistan, is an extension of Riyadh's efforts during its presidency of the G20. It also emanates from the keenness on activating modern technologies and promoting digital transformation around the world. The goals of the new organization and its members include expanding the adoption of distance education platforms and digital health, encouraging the growth and adoption of e-commerce platforms, achieving a digital future for all through empowering women, youth and entrepreneurs, and developing the digital economy through innovation, the paper further said. The paper concluded that the Kingdom's leadership of the organization will be the biggest incentive for the founding countries to develop their shared digital economy to a trillion dollars within the next three to five years, by using their human resources, national capabilities and ambitious strategic plans. --SPA 10:48 LOCAL TIME 07:48 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1458810
