Riyadh, Aug. 5, 2019, SPA -- The official spokesman for the Coalition Forces (Coalition to Support Legitimacy, in Yemen) Col. Turki Al-Maliki condemned and disapproved, in the strongest terms, the vicious crime and massacre committed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias, as they targeted unarmed and innocent civilians, in Al-Thabit market. Al-Maliki said during a press conference of the coalition joint forces command, held here tonight, that the coalition forces responded immediately to a distress from Al Thabit tribes following the criminal attack, whereas the wounded were evacuated to hospitals inside Saudi Arabia. He cast light on the continuous coordination with the social components and border tribes adjacent to Saudi Arabia, for providing treatment for the wounded and assistance to alleviate the pains of victims of the terrorist crime committed by the Houthi militias, in order to incite public opinion and try to attach the crime to coalition countries. Therefore, these repeated acts by the Houthi militias are forms used to pressure the coalition forces to support the legitimacy, but those violations are exposed, monitored and documented by the joint command of the coalition forces, he said. He said: "Since the beginning of the coup of the Houthi militias in 2014, they continue to violate international humanitarian law and international human rights law through deliberate operations and crimes against the people of Yemen." Al-Maliki added: "In 2018 there was deliberate targeting by the Houthi militias to the Revolution Hospital, in Hodeida, and the Fish Market. The Houthi militias also targeted industrial areas in Sana'a, Hodeida and all other Yemeni governorates, in an attempt to incite international opinion. The latest crimes committed by the militias against the brotherly Yemeni people are mere continuation. He described the continuation of the Houthi militias targeting of civilians inside Yemen and neighboring countries through the use of drones to attack infrastructure and vital capabilities and civilians, a flagrant violation of the global order and human rights. Al-Maliki pointed out that the total number of aircraft used by the Houthi militias in their terrorist attempts during the last period amounted to more than eleven drones. Some of aircraft were intercepted in the Yemeni airspace while others were intercepted by Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces. He explained that relief outlets, in Yemen air, land and sea continue to operate through permanent permits and orders to secure the movements of international relief organizations, according to periodic reports and the UNVIM report in Djibouti, which referred to the efforts of the coalition forces towards the Yemeni people. Al-Maliki reviewed the efforts of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen through the lightening of roads by solar energy in the province of Hajja and the completion of 95% of the main lightening project of Hiran and the flow of aid in partnership with King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), pumping 260,000 liters of drinking water and another 325,000 of water for personal use of reservoirs, in addition to continuous food assistance. He pointed to the continued breaches and violations of the Houthi militias, which amounted to 6346 violations through the use of various weapons, in addition to the continued firing of ballistic missiles from inside of Yemen towards the Kingdom. The spokesman explained that the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias burned eight tons of wheat provided by the World Food Program for a number of beneficiaries in the province of Rima and prevented the WFP from distributing aid in the province of Rima, resulting in the exposure of (14.8 metric tons) of wheat to damage, storming a warehouse of the program and burning of a quantity of aid, reasserting that all that have taken place, in front of the, so far silent, international and humanitarian organizations. -- SPA 21:06 LOCAL TIME 18:06 GMT 0031 www.spa.gov.sa/w1150541
