HRC Vice President: KSA has made fundamental strides and reforms in the field of human rights

Riyadh, December 10, 2019, SPA – Vice President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khayyal confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince, has made strides in the field of human rights, and has been working continuously to achieve sustainable development through the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in which youth participate actively and play a major role in positive change of society to contribute to achieving more developments. This came in his speech delivered on behalf of the Commission's President Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad in a specialized symposium held by the Commission on the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2019, with participation of specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom, and the presence of a number of members of the diplomatic corps. The symposium aimed at highlighting the Kingdom's role in protecting and promoting human rights in accordance with its national and international obligations in this field, its cooperation with various human rights organizations, reviewing its keenness on the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law, ensuring the rights of litigants and respecting the rules of the administration of justice. --SPA 13:34 LOCAL TIME 10:34 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1225740
