Riyadh, Ramadan 15, 1439, May 31, 2018, SPA -- Major General Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman of the interior ministry, who also serves as director of the information affairs, co-held a press conference in Riyadh this evening with the director of the information crimes combating department at the Public Security Col. Abdulaziz Al-Hasan and the director of the information center at the interior ministry Lieutenant Colonel Talal Al-Shalhoob to highlight the newly-imposed by the Council of Ministers anti-harassment law. Al-Turki said harassment is prohibited in the concept of Islamic Sharia in the Kingdom. The eight-article new law will be enforced within the coming few days after being published in the official gazette, he said, adding that the system will focus on the conviction of perpetrators of harassment and not on victims. He said every individual is now aware of specific punishment for any form of harassment he might commit. The law protects people in public parks, schools, care and resort houses, homes and social media means in addition to those under age. He urged the public and private sectors to impose internal punishments as regards complaints filed by their employees. He explained that the new law comes within the accomplishment of the Kingdom's vision 2030 to enable all individuals of the society to practice their duties in the nation's development without any obstacle. --More 02:25 LOCAL TIME 23:25 GMT 0033 www.spa.gov.sa/w697093
