Al-Jubeir lashed out at the Iranian terrorist operations it was inciting in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, pointing out the Iranian attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the Arab states through smuggling of weapons, ammunition and planting terrorist cells in the Arab countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, contrary to the international norms and laws. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia did not take any aggressive action towards Iran because this is not our ethics. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always tried to extend hands of friendship to all neighboring countries. I hope that Iran could change its approach and policies in line with international norms and ethics based on non-interference in the affairs of others and the principle of good neighborliness in order that we could establish a better relationship with Iran. Iran is an Islamic and neighboring country. It is better for us and for them that peaceful coexistence be brought about. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia tried to establish relations with Iran, but, regrettably, Iran continues its aggressive policies towards the Kingdom since the Khomeini revolution.
