Washington, Dhu-AlHijjah 28, 1435, Oct 22, 2014, SPA -- A tropical depression is headed toward the Mexican gulf state of Campeche, in the country’s eastern Yucatan Peninsula, and is likely to strengthen into a tropical storm, U.S. forecasters said Wednesday. The depression’s maximum sustained winds early Wednesday were near 55 kilometers per hour (kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said strengthening is forecast, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm before moving inland. The depression was centered about 195 kilometers west-southwest of Campeche and has been nearly stationary over the last few hours but should start moving east again later in the morning the NHC said. --SPA 17:58 LOCAL TIME 14:58 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
