UNITED NATIONS, Jumada II 20, 1436, Apr. 09, 2015, SPA -- U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Thursday that the Yarmouk Palest (IS) fighters is “the deepest circle of hell” in Syria’s four-year war. Ban told reporters that “a refugee camp is beginning to resemble a death camp” for its estimated 18,000 residents. The U.N. chief warned about the fact that there are armed fighters inside Yarmouk and Syrian government forces outside it. “We simply cannot stand by and watch a massacre unfold,” Ban said. IS fighters overran much of the camp last week. Ban demanded an end to the fighting, access for humanitarian aid, and safe passage for people who wish to flee. --SPA 00:38 LOCAL TIME 21:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
