The Saudi-US relations have passed through important stages which have helped boost the relations between the two countries, including the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud on April 11, 2012 to the United States - when he was Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister - at the invitation of former US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
