During the interactive dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on Myanmar, member the Kingdom’s delegation to the United Nations, in Geneva, Mohammed Al-Khashaan, urged the Human Rights Council to make more international efforts, in light of the International Court of Justice decision to urge Myanmar to stop continuing violations of the Rohingya Muslim minority and take practical steps to relieve their suffering. He added that the Kingdom welcomed the set of recommendations contained in the report of the Special Rapporteur and encouraged the Government of Myanmar to implement it and fulfill its obligations to provide protection for the Rohingya minority. The Kingdom urged the Myanmar government to strictly comply with international humanitarian and human rights law in the conduct of hostilities.
