Three Ministers Highlight Initiatives during Press Conference of the National Transformation Program 4 Jeddah

For his part, Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qosaibi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, has lauded contents of the national transformation program in 2020, as the first executive program within the Kingdom Vision 2030, noting that trade is a harmonious system served by strong infrastructure. The minister said that there are bodies affiliated to the ministry of commerce, including the General Investment Authority, the Saudi Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA), the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority and others serving the commercial system and investment environment, adding that the Ministry of Commerce has 34 initiatives aiming to protect rights of consumer and trader, including facilitating services for citizen and investor and attracting the most promising investments for the homeland. He pointed out that the Kingdom has several resources, most notably the geographical location and the human wealth. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important part of the world, this needs to compete with other countries. The Kingdom must have a clear footprint as a leading and pioneering investment," he added, disclosing that the number of workers in small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom is about 1,740,000. Dr. Al-Qosaibi stressed importance of updating regulations and laws, pointing that there are 24 new systems and regulations.
