The minister said that the postal sector is among the sectors covered by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology where this sector is witnessed a quantum leap but we have to address some gaps in the postal field in order to turn these challenges into opportunities. "The ministry of telecommunication is seeking during 2020 to be 80% of high-density urban areas are to be covered with high speed and capacities. 55% of urban areas with no high-density are to be covered by 55% while remote areas with a population of no more than 5,000 are covered by 40% of wireless coverage," he added. He pointed out that the comprehensive service program covered uninhabited areas in the Kingdom, hoping that the IT field contributes to the GDP from 1.2% to 2.4% in 2020. He disclosed that the Kingdom occupies 35th rank in the international indicators and governance indicators, expressing hope that the Kingdom is to reach 25th rank. In the field of training male and female young people in the sector of telecommunications and information technology, Al-Suwailem stressed that "we have international partners for training male and female youth to obtain professional certificates in order to enter the labor market with 20,000 male and female young people in 2020." "In this year, we seek reaching to %85 of people using internet in the Kingdom instead of the current rate which is estimated at 65%," he added. He revealed restructuring of the Saudi Postal Corporation.
