ACAPULCO, Mexico, Sha'ban 28, 1436, Jun 15, 2015, SPA -- Officials ordered schools closed Monday and readied shelters along Mexico's southwestern coast as Tropical Storm Carlos battered beaches with high waves and strong wind as it swirled just offshore, AP reported. Carlos was downgraded from a hurricane Sunday, but while it regained some strength later in the day, forecasters said it probably would not intensify much more while gradually edging toward land over the next 48 hours. The U.S. National Hurricane Center cautioned, however, that it was forecast to become a hurricane again by early Tuesday. The storm was centered about 125 miles (205 kilometers) west of Acapulco early Monday with top sustained winds of 70 mph (110 kph), the hurricane center said. The storm was moving west-northwest about 6 mph (9 kph). --SPA 12:18 LOCAL TIME 09:18 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
