Joint statement issued at conclusion of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' visit to China

Beijing, Jumada II 18, 1438, March 17, 2017, SPA -- At the conclusion of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's visit to the People's Republic of China, the following joint statement issued today. At the invitation of President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud paid a visit to China from Sunday 16-19 Jumada II 1438 AH corresponding to 15-18, March 1, 2017 AD. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China held bilateral relations. They exchanged views in depth regarding developing relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two sides discussed regional and international issues of common interest. They have identical stances towards a number of important issues. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also met with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang and Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhang Dejiang. The two sides expressed satisfaction with the significant progress regarding relations between the two countries, especially after President Xi Jinping's visit to the Kingdom in January 2016 where they agreed that the High-level Joint Committee between the two countries represent an important framework for enhancing friendship relations between the two countries and two peoples as well as deepening practical cooperation in all fields. Within this framework, both sides expressed readiness to expand horizons of cooperation between the two countries in the political, security, military, economic, investment, health, education and mining fields in the service of the mutual interests and to increase cooperation between the two countries in the priority fields, including economic and industrial projects, fields of electronic government, infrastructure, advanced technology and space, as well as expansion of mutual investment between the two countries in all sectors, including: oil, renewable energy, electricity and peaceful uses of atomic energy in a way to raise the level of strategic partnership relations between the two countries to a higher level. In this regard, a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries, which will enhance the existing institutional framework for relations between the two countries ensuring a continuation of and pushing the relations towards wider horizons in the service of the two countries' interests. --More 08:54 LOCAL TIME 05:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w356016
