Cairo, Dhu-AlHijjah 14, 1437, Sep 15, 2016, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit expressed surprise at the US Congress introduction of a legislation named justice against sponsors of terrorism legislation. Aboul Gheit said in a statement that the law contains provisions that do not comply with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations or with established norms of international law, nor has any basis in international norms or stable rules for relations between states, based on non recognizing, under any pretext, of imposing internal law of a state on other countries. Spokesman for the Secretary-General, Mahmud Afifi reaffirmed and made clear the position of the Arab League that reject and condemn terrorism in all forms and reiterated respect for international law and stick with it, pointing out that Aboul Gheit expressed hope that the US administration will be able to stop this shameful law, which would serve, on adoption, to strain relations, including possible repercussions on already regional situation that is far from being stable. -- SPA 01:18 LOCAL TIME 22:18 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
