United Nations, Sha'ban 6, 1435, Jun 4, 2014, SPA -- More than 200 people have died from the contagious Ebola virus in Guinea, making it one of the worst outbreaks of the deadly disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Wednesday. The U.N. health agency said in Geneva it had registered 328 confirmed or suspected cases of Ebola in Guinea, including 208 deaths, with 21 deaths registered between May 29 and June 1. Neighboring Sierra Leone and Liberia also were increasingly affected, said the WHO, with79 confirmed and suspected cases in Sierra Leone and the death toll there rising from one to six over the past week. The virus apparently has resurfaced in Liberia, which earlier this year saw 12 Ebola cases, including nine deaths, but had not seen any new cases for almost two months. --SPA 23:06 LOCAL TIME 20:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
