Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia exerts great efforts to protect environment and achieve balance between economic and social growth

Riyadh, April 23, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh, Al-Yaum and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has exerted great efforts to protect the environment and achieve balance between economic and social growth. Saudi Arabia is working side by side with world's countries to tackle the growing environmental challenges they are facing as a result of population increase and the acceleration of the industrial, economic, urban and agricultural pace, the papers said. Saudi Arabia exerts unprecedented efforts in limiting the causes of climate change and to fulfill its commitment to standards and international agreements in this regard, the papers further said. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' speech yesterday during the virtual Leaders' Summit on Climate has confirmed Saudi Arabia 's interest in finding a comprehensive solution to face the challenges of climate change, through international cooperation and with a comprehensive methodology that takes into account the various developmental conditions around the world, the papers added. Saudi Arabia has affirmed its adoption of the concepts of a circular carbon economy and launching of two international initiatives to reduce land degradation and protect coral reefs and Saudi Green and Middle East Green initiatives reduce carbon emissions in the region, the papers further added.
