Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman expressed his concerns about the prospect of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon, emphasizing the need for global stability and diplomacy. In a recent US television interview, he revealed that his country is getting closer toward normalizing relations with Israel. During an interview with Fox News that will air in full later tonight, Prince Mohammed discussed the ongoing talks between Saudi Arabia and Israel aimed at forging a historic agreement to establish diplomatic ties. He remarked, “Every day we get closer,” highlighting the progress being made in the negotiations. However, he emphasized that resolving the Palestinian issue remains a crucial factor for any potential normalization agreement. “For us, the Palestinian issue is very important. We need to solve that part,” the Crown Prince said. “And we have good negotiations continuing until now.” Prince Mohammed expressed hope that reaching an agreement will ease the lives of Palestinians and contribute to Israel’s role as a key player in the Middle East. Turning to the topic of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Prince Mohammed voiced his concerns, describing it as a “bad move.” He warned against the potential consequences of such a development, stating: “If you use it, you’ve got to have a big fight with the rest of the world.” When questioned about Saudi Arabia’s response if Iran were to acquire a nuclear weapon, Crown Prince affirmed “If they get one, we have to get one.” He emphasized that Saudi Arabia, like many nations, is deeply concerned whenever a country gains access to nuclear capabilities. However, he also stressed his belief that no country would risk using such a weapon, as it would undoubtedly lead to a global conflict. “The world cannot see another Hiroshima,” he cautioned.
