On the Syrian situation, the Ministerial Council reviewed the developments in Syria in light of what is happening at Syrian and international arenas, stressing the importance of seeking to unite the international vision in dealing with the Syrian crisis, leading to the peaceful transfer of power to stop daily bloodshed of the brotherly Syrian people. It noted that what is being perpetrated by the Syrian regime of brutal aggression that reaches the use of the devastating Scud missiles against unarmed civilians requires empowering the people of Syria to defend themselves, calling at the same time on the parties continuing in the provision of the regime with weapons and aid to stop this, stressing the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council in taking a decision in accordance with Chapter VII, to protect civilians, preserve the blood of the Syrian people and maintain Syria's unity and stability to achieve the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people. --MORE 11:53 LOCAL TIME 08:53 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1084033
