With regard to the Gulf security, the council stressed its firm position rejecting Iran's continued occupation of the three islands, Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), confirming in this regard its support for the right of sovereignty of the UAE over the three islands. The council also deeply regretted the failure of contacts with Iran to achieve any positive results that reach a solution for the issue of the three islands to contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region, considering any practices or acts carried out by Iran on the three islands as null and void and that these do not change historical and legal facts on the right of the UAE to the three islands.
