Japanese minister discusses Mideast peace in Jordan

Amman, Dec 21, 2009, SPA -- Japanese State Secretary for Foreign Affairs KoichiTakemasa today discussed the prospects of resuming peacenegotiations between Israel and the Palestinians during separatemeetings with Prime Minister Samir Rifai and Foreign Minister NasserJudeh, dpa quoted an official statement as saying. "The prime minister praised Japan"s backing to the two-statesolution, its call for the cessation of Israeli settlement activityand its support for the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) forPalestine refugees," the statement said.
