Tel Aviv, March 31, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice summoned top Israeli and Palestinian negotiators Monday inan attempt to prod forward peace talks before ending herlatest Mideast mission. Rice met Monday morning with the chief negotiators, formerPalestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and Israeli ForeignMinister Tzipi Livni. Talks with the sides a day earlierproduced Israeli promises to ease restrictions in the WestBank. Later Monday, Rice was traveling to Amman to meetPalestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. On Sunday, the two metin the Jordanian capital, where Rice also saw Jordan's KingAbdullah II.
