During the meeting, the OIC Secretary General presented a report on OIC activities and its efforts to cement unity and solidarity among the Muslim countries including drafting of a new covenant for OIC and to establish a Poverty-Combating Fund. Highlighting the role of Iran towards causes of the Muslim-World, Ihsanoglu spelt out that the OIC has always supported the right of Iran to make use of the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and rejected any embargo on Iran.
