GCC Chief deplores 'terror' incidents in Egypt

Riyadh, July 23, SPA -- The Secretary General of The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Abdul-Rahman Al-Atiyyah condemned on Saturday 'terror' incidents which took place in Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh last night leading to the death of tens of people and causing injuries to hundreds of innocent people. In a press statement issued here today, Al-Atiyyah reiterated the solidarity of the GCC states with the Egyptian Government and affirmed their support to measures that might be undertaken to confront terror acts. Confirming the opposition of the GCC states to extremism and violence, Al-Atiyyah called for international cooperation to fight terrorism. Al-Atiyyah offered condolences to families of the victims and to the Egyptian Government.
