On the failed coup attempt on 15 July against democracy, in Turkey, Oglu thanked Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Arab member states for their supporting stance, pointing out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was among those whom, instantaneously, called President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as contacts received from foreign ministers, presenting support and showing solidarity with the Turkish people and its will, and condemning the coup attempt. With regard to Iran's request form the Republic of Turkey for mediation to resume Saudi-Iranian relations between, the Turkish Foreign Minister pointed out that there are some talks which are taking place regarding the situation, in Syria, the ceasefire, reaching political solution and providing humanitarian aid, adding that the role of Iran is doctrinally driven which is not positive and that its role must be away from sectarianism and factionalism, in order to be positive, indicating that Russia should play an important role, in Syria, rather than turning a blind eye to what is being destroyed and killed, in Aleppo, and contribute to finding access to deliver humanitarian aid to Aleppo. Oglu, also, pointed to Turkey endeavors to remove barriers between Islamic countries as a main state member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and proceeding from that perspective it can assume mediation role, in this regard. as that is its goal as well as desire, stressing the importance of the desire of all Islamic countries, to remove impediments and problems between themselves and from this perspective we can do a mediating role, in this matter. In terms of visits, at high level between Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Oglu expressed pleasure at the level of visits, noting the visit of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, to Turkey, which has been successful and positive to the maximum, pointing out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz emphasizes on the importance of visits and its continuity, stressing that visits between the two countries will continue, pointing out that there are mechanisms developed between the two countries, especially with regard to strategic meetings, and that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Al-Jubeir will pay a visit to Turkey, while Ministers from Turkey will continually visit the Kingdom, asserting that the ongoing cooperation will continue. For his part, Al-Jubeir stressed that Iran knows what Saudi Arabia wants to build relations between the two countries, that they stop meddling in the affairs of the kingdom and its allies, not to support terrorism and not to interfere, as well, in the affairs of countries in the region, not agitated sectarian strife, not to kill diplomats and blow up embassies, to stop inciting the people against their government, not to think that they are the guardians of the followers of the Shiite sect and realize that those who follow the Shiite sect are citizens belonging to their countries, whether in Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia or Bahrain, he said, stating that Iran has nothing to do with them.
