Kerry added: "we welcome the Kingdom's initiative to try to bring about a peaceful resolution through announcement of its intent to establish a five-day ceasefire due to humanitarian reasons. There will not be any strikes, reposition troops or achieving military gains. This ceasefire is conditioned on the Houthis agreeing to these same commitments. We strongly urge the Houthis and their supporters not lose this great opportunity to respond to the needs of the Yemeni people. We thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this initiative which confirmed its saying to the world that it is ready to address the humanitarian needs in Yemen," the US Secretary of State added.
