Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation issues Declaration of Jeddah 3

The declaration reaffirmed the commitment of their countries to consolidate cooperation and coordination in the fight against terrorism, praising the efforts of the International Centre established by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism under the United Nations umbrella . It called for tackling extremism disguised in religion and doctrine, non-accusation of followers of Islamic sects as disbelievers, inviting of Member States to deepen the dialogue between the followers of sects and promoting moderation and tolerance; welcoming in this context, the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the establishment of a center for dialogue between Islamic sects which was approved by the Fourth Extraordinary Islamic Summit in Makkah in August 2012 AD. The declaration called on the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to accelerate the implementation of this decision in coordination with the hosting country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so that this center fulfills its role, welcoming the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a headquarters for the Independent Permanent Commission of Human Rights. With regard to the economic affair, it urged the General Secretariat on the restructuring of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry to be more effective in enabling businessmen to carry out an effective role to promote cooperation between the Islamic chambers in the Member States, welcoming the offer of the State of Kuwait to host the forty-second session of the Council of Foreign Ministers for the year 2015. --SPA 15:34 LOCAL TIME 12:34 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
