Jeddah, Sha'ban 21, 1435, Jun 19, 2014, SPA -- The "Declaration of Jeddah" was issued at the end of the 41st session of the Conference of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation here today. The two-day meetings - which began yesterday - were hosted by the kingdom under the title of "Exploring the Areas of Islamic Cooperation." The "Declaration of Jeddah" reiterated the commitment of the foreign ministers and heads of delegations of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation participating in the current session of the Council to the objectives and principles of the Charter of the Organization, the coordination of joint efforts to address all the challenges and threats facing the Islamic countries and strengthen the bonds of unity and solidarity among them to secure their common interests at the International arena, stressing the central role of the organization in the promotion of Islamic solidarity in accordance with the Charter and the ten-year program. The "Declaration" welcomed the forming of the Ministerial Contact Group on the Holy City of Alquds, calling for urgent action to convey the message of the Organization on Alquds to the countries that bear the political, moral and ethical responsibility towards the Palestinian issue, in addition to supporting the organization's efforts to implement the strategic plan for the development of the city of Alquds and mobilizing the necessary resources for the Agency of Bayt Mal Al Quds Al Sharif. The "Jeddah Declaration" held Israel fully responsible for the halt of the peace process as a result of lack of commitment to the release of the fourth installment of the Palestinian prisoners and continuity of the policy of settlement, blockade, Judaization of Alquds and change of its geographical and demographical status, rejecting the presidential elections that took place recently in Syria and all their results because they contravene the Geneva statement, which calls for the establishment of a transitional government, with the aim of reviving the political process for the implementation of the transitional phase, led by all parties. --More 15:33 LOCAL TIME 12:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
